Preev-yet (Hello!), my name is Gene Sagin, an independent investigator doing searches for the biological (birth) parents and families of adopted children from Ukraine. I am living in Donetsk, Ukraine, and do bio-searches throughout the country.
If you are visiting my website then perhaps you are considering doing a bio-search for the Ukrainian family of your adopted child from Ukraine. Allow me to explain some of the benefits of doing a bio-search:
The Families
First of all, I must tell you that in most of the cases the birth parents are really happy to know about their children. You should see it - they kiss the pictures of their bio-kids and really feel glad for the news I bring to them! You reaching out to them brings them peace of mind to know that the kids are happy and healthy. If you wish to keep your identity confidential this is possible, but I can assure you that it is completely safe for you.
History
Learning the history of your child's biological family before they became orphaned can help you to answer the questions they will inevitably have and help them to understand where they came from before their adoption. Usually, photos can be obtained so that they can see what the family looks like. Often I am able to learn some very interesting stories and information about them to pass on to you. When I find the birth family I clarify all the questions about their origin, where are they from, nationality, health condition and everything what you are interested in. I usually check up the information about the health history of a child and the biological parents very carefully. It is good if you send me a list of questions you are interested in having answered.
Establishing Relationships
It is completely your choice, but sometimes adoptive families choose to attempt to establish a relationship with the biological families. I can help you to get started by communicating with them to see if they are open to this. In most cases this has proven to be a very rewarding experience for everyone involved. I can provide you with the proper mailing address so that you can send letters from you and your child. Of course you will probably need to have the letters translated first.
Visiting the Bio-Family
Once a relationship has been established some families have even returned to Ukraine to visit the biological families with their adoptive child. If you are interested in making such a trip, I will visit with the bio-family personally to ensure that everything is safe and comfortable for you to come. I will also provide you with complete transportation/translator services the entire time that you are in Ukraine, from the airport, to the city of the bio-family and back again. The bio-families are so grateful to have an opportunity to see and hug their child again and it is a very emotional and moving experience for everyone there. They are usually also very kind and welcoming to the adoptive family and very thankful for what you have done for their child.
